STICKERS ON CRIBS AND TABLES
* Please Don't do it. We are still seeing lots of stickers on tables and cribs. This is becoming a really big safety concern. If you are needing an alternate way to have an ID within a patients room please come speak to us.

Sage
Essential Bath wipes, Shield Comfort Barrier wipes, Shampoo Caps, and the
Chlorhexidine (CHG 2%) wipes are now being trialed. There is a warmer in each
unit. Unit 1 is on the hutch. Unit 2 is on the chart counter. Unit 3 is in the
Team Room (for the trial only). Unit 4 is in the Clean Supply room beside the
blanket warmer. Extra supplies are underneath the warmers. Please put a
replacement package into the warmer when you take one out. Thank you!
Here some Ideas for using these cloths:
a.
Essential Bath Wipes – NOT to replace actual
baths/showers. Are rinse free.
i.
Great to use these cloths in-between those
bath/shower days.
ii.
Can use them for post-op washing – very quick
and warm to do when doing your assessment/vitals.
iii.
Massive blowout or emesis but no time to do a
full wash at this moment? Wipe them down with the wipes until the bath can get
done.
iv.
BEDTIME wash up – sweaty or sick patients can
get a cloth wipe down before bed to make them feel cleaner.
v.
Peri-area clean up – especially for those bigger
kids with bigger messes (instead of the smaller diaper wipes).
b.
Shield Comfort Barrier Wipes – NOT to do
clean-up of urine/feces. Continue to use diaper wipes (infants) or the
Essential Bath wipes (older children) THEN use a Shield wipe to provide a
preventative, proactive transparent protection of the peri-area. You can
prevent skin breakdown by being proactive. You can still see the skin for a
thorough assessment of the area. Zinc can still be used to help heal reddened
areas.
c.
Shampoo Caps – you know what to do. Just a reminder, the caps are rinse
free and contain a leave in conditioner. They will leave the hair feeling silky
for easy comb through.
d.
Chlorhexidine (CHG 2%) Wipes – will not remain
in the warmer AFTER the trial. This is for the trial only. AFTER the trial,
these will be in a box on-top of the warmer. Shelf life if in the warmer is
very short so we will make sure the product doesn’t expire.
i.
Great to use as a pre-op bath! Ex: a pre-op appy
comes up overnight and will go to the OR the next shift, give a quick wipe
