o page Pharmacy to notify

·         PYXIS units:

CNE Update:

NEW Isolette - the BabyLeo

There is a new folder within the q-cards folder of the S-drive: Isolette - BabyLeo
You will find:
- Admitting and caring for an infant in an Isolette including the use of the Radiant Warmer Work Standard
    - this includes information on the powering on, making changes to parameters, Air Temp, documentation, safety tips, using the Radiant Warrmer, weigh scale, Xray, adding patient name into the screen, & lighting options.
- Transitioning from Isolette to Open Care Bed Work Standard
    - this includes information on how/when to decrease temp, documentation, safety tips, Open Care Bed (also known as de-roofing), and how to power off when infant is discharged.
- BabyLeo TN500 Instruction Manual
- Cleaning Instructions
- updated Q-card (also in the recipe box of each unit)

There is NO change to previous practice of:
- the warmth the isolette should be set to initially
- the monitoring of the patient while in the isolette
- weaning from the isolette

We DO NOT use the skin temp feature. This is a NICU only function. There are too many variables to ensuring the probe is measuring accurately. If an infant is too sick to be monitored via air temp only, then this patient may need a higher level of care (aka go to NICU). We also do not have the probes on our floor.

The heated mattress is an optional function of our machines but will most likely not be used. We want air temp as our main warming source.

The BiliLux (bili light) is on hold for now. Do not use until more information is available and announced. Use the bili blanket as our phototherapy source.
Reasons we are not using the BiliLux yet:
        - physicians need to understand this therapy source and write specific orders for radiance levels
        - we need to get safety goggles for staff
        - we need to have information for you to safely use

There is a 23min video from Drager if you do want to review. There are more options discussed compared to what we will use but it is thorough: Babyleo How-to-use Video

We sincerely appreciate the nurses who set up and started care with the isolettes this past weekend. You are rock stars! 🤩
