It’s been a full house and full demand around here lately, so I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge it. Thank you to everyone who continues to work, pick up shifts, and show up for each other. It definitely doesn’t go unnoticed!

Education Day Sign-Up

The Education Day sign-up sheet is up! Please sign up for your preferred date by September 18th.

Once sign-up is closed, we’ll do some schedule Tetris (with a little help from Staff Scheduling!) and get the Education Days entered into your schedules.

If you won’t be working over the next week, feel free to email Kelly with your preferred date.

We have 8 Education Days planned, with a maximum of 20 spots per day:

• Thursday, October 29

• Monday, November 2

• Friday, November 6

• Monday, November 9

• Thursday, November 12

• Monday, November 16

RUH/JPCH Access Update

A quick update from our Site Lead Director regarding the College Drive construction and access to RUH/JPCH, effective September 7th:

• The intersection of Clarence Avenue and College Drive is now open to vehicle traffic, as are all four lanes of College Drive between the University Bridge and Hospital Drive.

• The exit from the University Bridge to Saskatchewan Crescent remains closed.

• University Drive northbound between Elliott Street and College Drive remains closed.

• Traffic leaving RUH can now turn right (westbound) toward the University Bridge and downtown, or left (eastbound) toward College Drive, Cumberland and Preston.

• Wiggins Road northbound into the University of Saskatchewan campus is accessible on a right-turn-in/right-turn-out basis. Left turns from College Drive onto Wiggins are not permitted.

• Wiggins Avenue south of College Drive remains closed to vehicles, but is open to pedestrians and other active transportation. Pedestrians and cyclists can cross College Drive at Wiggins and use the available active transportation routes through the area.

PIPD Update Sept 4, 2026

 

Please be advised that Sasktel is conducting an assessment of the WIFI capabilities in all the buildings of the RUH Campus.

Please allow the Sasktel team to proceed with their work, including entering patient rooms.

FLU Peer immunizers – it is that time of year again.. we are looking for one more PT/Casual staff that might be interested in being peer immunizers. If you are interested, please send your availability to Sharon and Kelly asap.

PART and PART trainers- just to note, you do not have to take PART training until your WAVE training has expired (every 3 years).  PART training is on the SASHW website as well as the training registration system on the infonet. Sharon, Kelly and the CNE’s can access this if you cannot view on the infonet..

**We are looking for any PT or casual staff that are interested in becoming a PART trainer. This role would be for this unit to support transitioning into PART certification (from WAVE) as people become due.  Reach out to Sharon or Kelly if interested.

 

Needlestick injuries are critical medical incidents that require immediate reporting to ensure you receive prompt, life-saving care and evaluation.

Master Schedule – Please be sure to review your schedules if you haven’t. The new master rotation changes come into effect Sept 20^th.

This is a busy season for many with kid's activities starting up and settling back into routines. Here on the unit, we also have new students and a new orientation group starting Sept 8th. We wish you all a happy fall; lots of extended summer days and of course, pumpkin spice everything!
