Kudos to Ruth for sprinting 3 times to transfusion  AIMS drop-in info sessions AIMS drop-in info sessions will be held twice daily starting Wednesday, May 8, 2024 and running for eight weeks until implementation. These employee-focused virtual sessions will give users a first look at the functionality of AIMS and be able to ask questions to AIMS subject matter experts. Employees should attend to learn the basics of what will change over a staged implementation period. The sessions will be recorded and available in MyConnection. Equipment Update The emergency PPE carts that had been sitting in unit 2 and 3 team rooms have been changed. These are now only stocked with N95s and can be used at anytime, they are not just for emergencies. The rest of the PPE that was on the carts is in the patient room PPE carts.  CNE Updates 1.       RUH Adult RACE Outreach Team starting July 2 a.       What is the RACE Outreach team - is a group of specially trained clinicians that go to an inpatient’s bedside to provided critical care expertise to ADULT patients. b.       What does this mean for Peds? – If a person is a Visitor, Family member or Staff member, the outreach team will respond to these medical emergencies to help stabilize and transport to the emergency department for care. HOWEVER – if the visitor, family member or staff has a respiratory or cardiac arrest, CALL AN ADULT CODE BLUE and begin CPR. c.       Come & Go Info Sessions will be in the North Atrium from 1130- 1230 May 27th, 28th, May 29th  and  June 4th, 5th, 6th. d.       A poster is on the Huddle Board for information and the QR Code for the WebEx (June 4 from 1400-1500). 2.       Welcome to our Unit – the AirTap LC (currently in room 9) with 3-in-1 mobility Sage AirTAP LC Training - YouTube   1) In-bed positioning addresses risk factors of pressure injury 2) Lateral transfer utilizes air-assisted technology to safely transfer patients 3) Vertical transfer enables patients to safely transfer to the bedside chair   ·   Intuitive strap system enables multiple lifting positions (supine, reclined, and upright) ·   30° Body and Anchor Wedge System offloads the sacrum, minimizes patient migration down the bed, and reduces the need for boosting ·   Sage M² Microclimate Body Pad effectively absorbs and locks in moisture to protect patient’s skin while allowing air to flow through ·   Inflatable glide sheet with Hi-tech Fabric promotes a healthy microclimate for the skin and is compatible with low air loss technology ·   Integrated head support ensures patient’s head maintains neutral position while inflated ·   Point of Care Power Switch is connected to the Sage Prevalon Air Pump and integrated into the workflow to improve efficiency ·   Easy Roll Handles encourage proper posture for healthcare worker ·   Quick Connect Valve provides an easy, secure connection and a quick release   In-person info sessions with hands on practice will be May 26 & 27 from 1300-1600. Each session takes about 30 minutes to complete. More details can be found in a staff bathroom near you! 3.       Anyone who did: Orientation, Obs, or Chemotherapy training since Nov 2023 – your Certification record for your skills is in the CNE Mailbox outside Jon’s office. This is your copy of the skills you completed and are certified for on PIPD (both RNs and LPNs). Please collect yours to keep for your own record of training. 4.      PCA Pump change – our current PCA pumps will no longer be used as of June 17, 2024. SHA will be using the CADD Pump as the PCA. There is a module on MyConnection -  CADD-Solis Pain Management SMART Pump Initial Certification. Please try to complete the module by June 17. It’s a CADD pump and it will be very user friendly. Virtual training sessions are being provided and presented by ICU Medical (CADD-Solis™ vendor). These sessions are available to all SHA staff wanting to attend. It is encouraged that staff have a CADD-Solis™ pump in hand while completing this training, however these sessions do utilize a computer generated pump for those who do not have access. The Virtual Training Sessions are not mandatory. Please contact the SMART Pump Program via email to receive a meeting link for a virtual session.
