PIPD Update October 2, 2025

HI everyone

I just wanted to let you all know I will be away from Oct 6th -20th. Kelly Mizuno is the new temporary acting supervisor on the ward and will likely be able to answer most questions/deal with outstanding issues for you.

Covering Managers are: Lori Bjorkman Oct 6-10 and Fiona Raes Oct 14-17th. Please send payroll inquiries or requests for STAT payouts (if applicable-SEIU) to them during this time.

Ed days- we still have a bit of room Oct 8, 9th, 23, 28th. Please reach out to Kelly re: sign up.

CRNS- employee pays this year so just wanted to give you a heads up to have that in. you can submit a reimbursement through my connection. Attach your receipt of payment.

FIT testing is back on the unit! Upcoming dates are: Oct 14th days, Nov 19th evenings and Nov 25th days

I wanted everyone to be aware I will be posting a new position very soon. This is a 3rd coordinator position to support our increasing acuity and needs on the unit. Please see job posting for more information on that if you are interested!

eLearning Update
1. "Anaphylaxis - Identification and Initial Treatment 2025" is now available on MyConnection. - This is mandatory for all staff in SHA annually.

2. "Seasonal Influenza Certification 2025-26" is now available on MyConnection. This is strongly encouraged to complete so we can provide timely care for each patient. This must be completed annually in order to administer the seasonal influenza vaccine.

You must have completed both of these modules before you can provide this season's flu vaccine. Flu vaccines can be ordered/given starting October 14. Physicians must use a Pre-printed Order set - "Pediatric Vaccine In-patient Order Set" (Form #103957) or "Pediatric Influenza Vaccine Administration in Acute Care, Continuing Care and Community Settings" (Form # CS-OS-0017 on Forms on Demand 🠊 search under "All Forms")

3. COVID Vaccine - if you would also like to give this vaccine, you must complete "COVID-19 Vaccines 2025-2026" module on MyConnection - COMING SOON (not posted yet).



SASWH eLearning - When accessing the online TLR and WAVE modules on the SASWH website, there are new enrolment keys starting October 1, 2025:
TLR: 
  • Once you have logged in, scroll down on the home page to find the list of courses.
  • From the list of courses, click on the link Transferring Lifting Repositioning (TLR®) program© - you will see a short course overview under the course name.
  • Under the Self Enrolment (Student) heading, enter the appropriate enrolment key in the field provided and click “Enroll me”.
  • The enrolment key for the TLR program is: Object3Moving$ - it is case sensitive, so enter it exactly as noted here.
  • DO NOT use the Guest access field to enroll.
WAVE:
  • Once you have logged in, scroll down on the home page to find the list of courses.
  • From the list of courses, click on the link WAVE – Workplace Assessment Violence Education - you will see a short course overview under the course name.
  • Under the Self Enrolment (Student) heading, enter the appropriate enrolment key in the field provided and click “Enroll me”.
  • The enrolment key for the WAVE program is: Assessment2$ - it is case sensitive, so enter it exactly as noted here.
  • DO NOT use the Guest access field to enroll.

HOW TO ADD A PRINTER *NEW* 
1. Click on the isupport icon on your desktop

2. Open "printers" folder

3. Open "SKTNHR" folder

4. Open "Printer-add (Saskatoon)"

5. Type the printer you are wanting to add into the search bar

6. Double click on it when it shows on the screen
