engagement session All
Saskatchewan Health Authority Saskatoon leaders, staff, and physicians are
invited to an in-person engagement session to learn more about the expansion
of acute care capacity at Saskatoon City Hospital. John Ash, Vice President of Integrated Saskatoon Health, and Dr. Mark Fenton, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Integrated Saskatoon Health, will lead this voluntary session, and provide project updates, next steps, and an opportunity for you to ask questions and share your feedback.  |
CNE Update
Peritoneal Dialysis - we have upcoming PD training happening in November. Charge Nurses and previously trained Fresenius machine PD nurses have been contacted. An email to staff scheduling has been sent - check your schedules. Information to those who have responded to either Cherie or Tanzly will be coming out soon!
Blinatumomab - the following update is from the Provincial Peds Oncology Educator:
October 2025
Blinatumomab Update
For patients on Blinatumomab we are reverting back to using
the version of the Equashield (male and female ends) that has a swivel
mechanism. It allows for the connections at the clave site and CADD Solis
tubing to be more secure and will alleviate taping these areas with water proof
tape. Once the female end is secured to the CADD Solis tubing it is permanently
on and cannot be removed. The male swivel Equashield will remain on the lumen clave.
If needing to remove the male swivel Equashield, you must do a clave change.
The foundation of how Equashield works is still the same.

There
is NO need to use water proof tape to secure the CADD tubing and port clave
areas.

The female swivel Equashield is attached to the
CADD Solis pump and is permanently on the tubing.
2.
The male swivel Equashield is attached to the
port clave. If you need to take the male swivel Equashield off the clave,
remove the clave and the male swivel equashield entirely. Then apply new clave
and male Equashield.
Pharmacy will have the female swivel Equashield and have it
attached to the pre-primed CADD Solis tubing. The male swivel Equashield ends
will be kept in PIPD Charge Nurse Room in unit 3. In outpatients the male
swivel Equashield are kept in a clear rubber maid container in the med room on
the bottom most shelf.
