Ready Set Eat Simple facts to know:
- you must still enter a diet into SCM - this is not changing.
- if a patient has restrictions for sodium intake, soft diet, minced, etc - only food that aligns with their dietary needs will be available to them to order
- families are responsible to make the initial call to set up ordering - they can call "2EAT" (306-655-2328)
- a patient/caregiver can order meals via phone call or through the app set up via text or email (the caregiver must phone 1st to get the initial set up)
- staff are not to be using their personal phones or email to assist patients in getting meals. we are going to set up an area that families could call from in the front reception family room
- if a family is not available or able to order meals for the patient, the nurse can call "2EAT" (2328) to help the pt order or they should call to opt the patient out of the program. This patient will then get a standard tray brought for breakfast, lunch and supper.
- Special circumstances happen!
- Diabetic Patients: nurse is to put in diet order and include snacks as ordered per previous practice. Then the nurse must call to opt out after putting in the diet order. Once the team determines the patient is ready to opt in, the nurse must call and say "Patient 'a' in room 'x' is now ready to opt in". Once the patient is transitioned to Ready Set Eat, the snacks will be incorporated into their options to choose for the day.
- Eating Disorder Patients: RD will put orders in unless specified as different specifically.
NPO-if a pt is NPO-opt them out and provide the full time frame for NPO so that it is very clear to FNS.
reminder: there is a fax being sent to all units to indicate if a meal was missed for some reason. The times for this are: 0935,1335,1735
License Renewal: For this upcoming licensing
year, employees are responsible for remitting their professional fees to the
appropriate professional licensing body. The employee must submit the expense
for reimbursement through MyConnection using the Professional Fee Reimbursement tile. Please follow KB0012953. Reminder for managers and staff that when submitting
the Professional Fee Reimbursement, ensure to attach the receipt to the
case and it is mandatory to enter your license number in the appropriate
field. NOTE: because the employer reimburses your license, it cannot be a tax deduction.
Flex Unit carts: The 4 rooms in Flex (2145, 2143, 2141, 2139) have had their carts changed to PIPD kanbans.
Scheduling Process Clarification:
Scheduling will attempt to fill a full shift at regular time
and take partials if overtime is not approved.
If the shift is approved for overtime, Scheduling will post
the full shift at regular and overtime.
If no one at regular and overtime is available for the full
shift, Scheduling will consider offers for partials with priority given to
anyone at regular time.
***Partial Bid Process:
The Staff Scheduling website allows employees to bid on
shifts that fall within 48 hours of the start of the shift.
If you are bidding on a shift that has already started, you
must bid as a partial and adjust the time frame to the time frame that you are
available to work.
Halloween:
Halloween theme this year is Under the Sea, we would love to see as many people as possible dress up!
Just a reminder that Child life will bring costumes for the pt's to pick out to wear Thursday pm or Friday am. They will also be decorating bags with the kids over these 2 days. Parade will occur at ~1:30pm Friday. 😈
Have a great weekend everyone!!
