PIPD Update May 1, 2026

Here’s a clean, engaging blog-style version you can drop in as-is:

Looking Ahead to Sunshine (or weather that is not snow) This Week

Grab a coffee and take a few minutes to catch up on what’s happening across the unit.

Outdoor Playground Update

The outdoor playground is almost ready for regular use.

  • Water will be turned on briefly this Saturday to clean the space, then turned off again due to frost.

  • Once the weather is consistently warm, the space will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., including weekends and stat holidays.

  • The later start time allows housekeeping to complete morning cleaning.

How you can help:

  • Please remind patients and families to tidy up after using the space.

  • Let housekeeping know if the area needs extra attention.

Signage will be posted soon to support these expectations.

a reminder:

Staff Safety Strategy Survey (2026–27)

This is an important opportunity to share your frontline experience.

Deadline: May 8

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is asking staff to complete a short survey about day-to-day safety and workplace experiences. Feedback will directly shape future staff safety priorities.

If you’ve experienced challenges—especially around aggressive family members or visitors—this is your chance to speak up.

A Few Bright Spots

  • New whiteboards have been added to the small staff room—thank you to the social committee for leading this.

  • Work is underway to revamp the huddle board. If you have ideas for what should be included, send them along.

  • A recent patient family shared heartfelt thanks for the nursing team, especially highlighting how much it meant to feel heard. A good reminder that your work, while demanding, truly makes a difference.

  • Shout-out to whoever has been keeping the small staff room clean and tackling dishes this past week—it has not gone unnoticed

  • Social event! see poster below for such a great opportunity for us

Your work is not easy, and it doesn’t go unseen. Thank you for the care, attention, and effort you bring every shift.
