Weekly Update June 16, 2023
Thank you to everyone who contributed to Lorries
retirement gift/party on Thursday. She was touched by the gift and wanted to
pass this along.
To my exceptional co-workers
present day and from years gone by,
I am humbled by all my
friends and co-workers, physicians and residents and Interprofessional staff
that came to the coffee party today to share good wishes and memories. I am
overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness and generosity with the gift basket items
and gift cards and all the well wishes in my retirement book. Good thing I
don't have far to drive home as I was crying, mostly happy tears, on the way.
Retirement will be an adjustment but I know the ward is in very capable and
caring hands. I will stop in from time to time or see you at a coffee shop
somewhere. Take care of each other!
New to Q-cards on the
S-drive: IV recommendations for CT procedures. Please review
if you have a patient needing a CT scan- see
attachment
Effective June 13, 2023, the Infection Prevention and
Control (IPAC) Progress Note will be available on SCM: This structured note will be
utilized by the Infection Prevention and Control Practitioners for any data
information pertaining to new referrals and ongoing care. See attached
PDF.
June 27 is fast approaching for the BFI Pre-Assessment.
If you are working that day, please review the laminated pink information
sheets available in each unit. The Assessor will be touring the ward and may
ask ANY staff member questions. You already do family centered care so you got
this!
This week’s info tips:
- The Feeding Policy is called “JPCH BFI Guidelines”. A
copy of it is in the BFI folder on the Acute Care Pediatrics S-Drive
- Breast/chest feeding is welcome to happen anywhere the
parent feels comfortable. If the parent wants a quiet/private room to
feed or pump, there is a room on main floor by the public washrooms (by
the JPCH Foundation office).
- If the parent is here with the patient AND has a
sibling in the room they are nursing – please support the parent. Ensure
they know breastfeeding is welcome anytime. Offer a pump if needed &
let them know they can store breastmilk in the patient fridge.
Hello all,
I am conducting a survey to look at the attitudes of our
pediatrics team towards patients/children with obesity. I would really
appreciate if you could take the time to complete the survey. It should take
less than 10 minutes to complete.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Please feel free
to email me at nita.chauhan@usask.ca if you have any
questions/comments/concerns.
Many thanks,

Good morning from RMHC-SK!
We value our partnership with our
healthcare providers, and would love the opportunity to share who we are, who
we serve, and how we can support the model of Family Centered Care through
accommodations.
On Thursday, July 7th,
we invite you to stop in at the House for our healthcare appreciation breakfast
and tour! For those who are unable to join in person, there is an online
opportunity that same afternoon from 2:00pm-3:00pm.
Please share with your
team, and RSVP to myself if you’re interested in joining.
