MEMO
1. For patients admitted during ADT downtime, only orders for medications required during the downtime will be processed. Please do not call pharmacy for morning medications during overnight downtime.
2. MARs:
- For patients admitted during downtime, MARs will not print. Handwrite MARs for these patients.
- For patients transferred during downtime, the 24 hour MARs will print at the location the patient was at when downtime started. Transferring unit to fax or send the MAR to the receiving unit.
3. Pyxis machines will be on critical override during the outage. Pyxis users may need to use Facility Search or add Temporary patients during the ADT downtime.

💊Pyxis
We have been advised by Pharmacy that ".RESTOCK" option on Pyxis is a no-go for removing medications - especially any high alert or narcotic. We should be adding a temporary patient or selecting the patient and doing an override.
✍Preceptors to 4th year students
When you have a nursing student, you need to sign off on their charting. From Clinical Standard CS-CDCS-0058 Student Documentation:
During the student’s final practicum, the student may document on the “initial box”
assessment guide as the student is transitioning to independent practice. The nurse assigned to
the patient is expected to document agreement with the student assessment or, if there are
variations in assessment, to document the variations in the notes.
