PIPD Update June 13, 2025

 Interested in learning more about Cardiology and Pediatric Heart patients?

As of June 11, 2025, the Pediatric Consult Liaison Psychiatry Team will implement electronic clinical documentation in Sunrise Clinical Manager.
 
The scope of the electronic clinical documentation will include the following:
Pediatric Consult Liaison Psychiatry Assessment Note
·         Provide a central location for the communication of the recommendations of the Pediatric Consult Liaison Psychiatry Team
·         Provide documentation on patients receiving a referral to the service and will provide direction for improvement in the patient’s condition.
 
Pediatric Consult Liaison Psychiatry Follow-Up Note
·         Provide documentation of ongoing interactions and coordination of services with admitted patients.
 
Clinical units and members of the health care team can access the Pediatric Consult Liaison Psychiatry Notes by viewing documents on the Documents Tab or the Visit Record Review Tab.

CNE Update

Glucometer QC Checks - Remember to check the expiry date on the strip bottle. If you are having issues with the meter not "reading" the strip bottle, it's probably because the strips are expired. QC's must be done every NX shift - this can impact patient care in emergent situations. 

VAC - Negative Pressure Wound Therapy

    NEW Q-card: 

Epidurals - reminder: DO NOT use "Override"/"patient specific fridge med" to remove an epidural bag. You must select the patient and then select the epidural bag medication from their list of meds. It will open the fridge for you. If you do not use the correct method, pharmacy is unable to track use and ensure you always have a replacement bag.

If you have an error in your charting, you should: 

• cross through the word or words with a single line and above the entry write “mistaken entry”; and, 
• include initials, date and time the correction is made.
